Calling All Amateur Astronomers: Help Solve a Mystery | Wired Science | Wired.com

This is something that I found interesting.  It’s non-computer related in that the focus is on Astronomy, however there are computer-related aspects to this (in the things that we can do to help out).

There is  a star which dims every 27 years or so.  This dimming is going to happen over the next two years, so astronomers are looking for people to help out.  And there are ways for people who have an interest in science and astronomy to get into the field.

I’m writing about this, because I’m interested in Astronomy and have been since I was a kid.  I’ve had telescopes since I was around 11 years old (in fact, I still have that original telescope).  I plan on looking into this to see what I can do to help out.  If you’re interested in Astronomy, I recommend checking it out as well.

Have a great day:)  And hopefully later today or tomorrow, I’ll start writing my own material instead of pointing out interesting articles that I’m reading 🙂

Patrick.
