A slight change to affiliations and advertisements.

Just wanted to make a quick post to point out some things that are changed and some that are missing from the site.  You’ve probably noticed that the text ads are gone (along with the sidebar ads).  The service that I was using (Scribefire) is updating their ad system, so they’ve taken them down completely.

While I’m waiting for them to return, I added some products that I’ve recommended and have affiliations with (through DigitalRiver and element5).  Currently I use Avast and have used AVG and Kaspersky.  UltraISO is a good substitute for DaemonTools and other Virtual CD/DVD drives.  It allows you to extract the files from an image of a DVD or CD—or allows you to execute the files on the DVD/CD image.  EasyBoot will work for people who are trying to dual- or triple- boot Windows, Linux, and other operating systems.  It’s especially useful if you’re trying to boot Windows XP, Windows Vista, and another Operating System (like Windows 7 or Linux).

I’ll probably be adding a few more products to the list, but not until I’ve had a chance to try them out or do a little more research.  If you’re looking for one of these products, I encourage you to try them out.  If you find that they are what you’re wanting, then I ask that you go back through my affiliation page and purchase them.

However, the most important thing is this.  Regardless of whether you purchase them through my affiliation or some other means, purchase them (instead of trying to use them illegally).  And if you find that they are (or are not) good, please post a comment here.  If they’re good, I’ll keep them.  If they prove to not be worth the money, I’ll remove them and go with something better.  I’m just one person.  The more opinions that I get, the more information I’ll have.

Have a great day:)

Patrick.
